Bryant Pond 4-H Camp

NEW FOR 2008!  Ages: 14-17 (Two Weeks)

Students in the Naturalist Path and teens new to camp are ready for the next challenge.  It’s here!  The Conservation Caretaker program begins with a week of fun and challenge at our Bryant Pond site.  After a day of team-building and leadership training, the group sets up camp at one of our remote campsites.  Throughout the week, Caretakers enjoy traditional camp activities while honing their scientific observation and data collection skills.  Having bonded as a group and developed their field naturalist skills, the Caretakers and their Field teachers then head north to Lake Umbagog National Wildlife Refuge for a hands-on experience as assistants to United States Fish and Wildlife Service field biologists.  Projects may include wildlife data collection and observation, trail and campsite work, or water quality monitoring.   An overnight canoe and fly fishing trip to the mouth of the Rapid River gives the group a chance to relax and reflect on their fond memories of this unique experience.
