Just north of Bryant Pond, surrounded by granite peaks, lie the Rangeley Lakes, one of the most picturesque canoe areas in Maine. It was here that Louise Dickinson Rich wrote her famous book We Took to the Woods, in the 1940s. You and your group will pack all your food and equipment for a four day canoe expedition through lakes, ponds, and rivers of the Rangeley region. In addition to advanced paddling techniques, the group will learn leave-no-trace camping, and will explore the rich natural and human history of the area. Come experience the call of the loon, the crackle of the campfire, and the daily rhythm of the paddle on this classic Maine canoe trip.
