The Maine Conservation School adds two new Board members.
Bryant Pond, ME – May 25, 2006 – Rep. Robert Duplessie of Westbrook and Douglas Alexander of Phippsburg have recently joined the Board of Directors of the Conservation Education Foundation of Maine (dba the Maine Conservation School).
Doug Alexander has served as the President of the Phippsburg Sportsman’s Association for seven years. He is a certified Maine State Safety Instructor for Hunting, Boating, Archery, ATVs, Snowmobiling, and Trapping. He has served on the Phippsburg Town Lands Committee and on the Lobster Advisory Council. Doug is very active in youth outdoor education.
Representative Duplessie is currently serving his fourth term in the Legislature and his second consecutive term as Assistant House Majority Leader. He is a retired Professional Firefighter/EMT with the City of Portland Fire Department after 28 of service. He enjoys reading, hiking, cross-country and downhill skiing. He is also a member of the Kora Temple Shriners, Mahoosuc Land Trust, Maine Chapter of the Nature Conservancy and other civic organizations.
The mission of the Conservation Education Foundation is to provide management direction and financial support for conservation education programs in Maine. These programs foster and encourage a stewardship ethic concerning the wise use and preservation of the natural world through education of children, teachers and people of all ages and backgrounds.
These new members join current board members Paul Wade of Manchester, Sigbert Seifert of Bremen, Vicki Moriarty of Bath, Don Kleiner of Union, and Don Richards of Litchfield.
