Bryant Pond, ME - February 22, 2005 - The
Maine Conservation School at Bryant Pond, has received grant
money for scholarships to our Junior Maine Woodsman / Woodswoman
, Maine Woodsman / Woodswoman, and Junior Maine Guide Programs
for 2005. A very generous donor, who wishes to remain anonymous,
has agreed to pay ½ of the fees for these programs
for young people from SAD 1 (Presque Isle), SAD 9 (Farmington),
SAD 27 (Fort Kent), Waldo & Knox county and year-round
island community school areas.
Funding is also available for the MCS Conservation Camp
program through money raised by the Maine Department of
Inland Fisheries and Wildlife's annual moose permit auction.
The MCS Summer Camp season runs from June 26 th through
August 26 th . Program lengths vary from one to four weeks.
These scholarships are available on a first-come, first-served
basis.
For almost 50 years, the Maine Conservation School 's camp
and school programs have introduced children and adults
to a unique blend of outdoor fun, environmental education,
and practical outdoor skills.
